VDMA Additive Manufacturing visits Q.BIG 3D
October 24, 2024
On October 24, 2024, we welcomed the Working Group on Industrialization of the VDMA Additive Manufacturing Association in our demo center in Backnang.
Twenty-five participants gained insights into our VFGF technology in the QUEEN machines, which enable fast and high-quality production of large components from granulate. This technology is particularly suitable for manufacturing fixtures, prototypes, and parts larger than shoebox size, including applications in machine engineering and the spare parts market.
The event featured diverse presentations, including Nico Geiss (Neue Materialien Bayreuth) on material efficiency in the SLS process, Markus Garscha (Ossberger) on unpacking and cleaning components, and Hansjörg Hesser (Hasenauer und Hesser) on the application of the SLS process in the packaging industry and for fuel cell components. Additional insights were provided by Markus Bär (Diehl) on the use of AM in the defense sector and Stephan Hundrieser (GKN) on functional integration in air nozzles and spray balls.
Additionally, Additive Industries presented flexible machine concepts for the sustainable use of AM technology. In conclusion, we discussed the potentials of additive manufacturing in machine engineering, identifying further VDMA specialist associations as potential users.
We thank all participants and look forward to a successful future together in the field of additive manufacturing!
